I am facing the same issue. Unable to use enter key to select any menu
option. Moreover, enter does not work on top right menu which manages
wifi, sound level, screen brightness etc. Seems like these issues are

Update: attempting to open a .odt on a remote linux share using sftp (so not
using samba) will result in the SAME ERROR. The .desktop sed hack does NOT
solve the problem in this regard. So, from what I know there is no
workaround for Ubuntu 12.04.3 to open .odf

I hope we all are aware of tmpreaper. It cleans files/folders in /tmp based on
how old they are.
