[Bug 1817335] Re: Freeze when changing the volume with the mouse wheel

2019-02-25 Thread SamuelB.
I'm pretty sure, that there is *really* no extension any more:

* uninstalled all shell extensions (browser interface, command line, even
gnome-shell-extensions)
* cleared $HOME/.cache
* deleted $HOME/.local/share/gnome-shell/extensions/
however
"apport-collect" and "gsettings get org.gnome.shell enabled-extensions" still
showed enabled extensions
after
"gsettings set org.gnome.shell enabled-extensions []"
no more enabled extensions.

After reboot, freeze still persists under X and wayland.

** Description changed:

  = Problem =
  Since today 2019-02-22 after upgrade:

  * Ubuntu (Gnome) desktop freeze when changing the volume with mouse wheel, no
keyboard/mouse input possible, hard reboot or restart gdm over ssh required
  * (possibly related?) gnome-shell extensions {system-monitor, SomaFM internet
radio} not working anymore

depending on the ending, proposed applications are useful (*.txt, *.png) or not
(e.g. *.js). Further more, the file name is not displayed but a reference/link
(?): instead of "Choose an application to open >>myimage.png<<" (Wählen Sie
eine Anwendung zum Öffnen von >>meinbild.png<<) I get: "Choose an application
to open >>8ac8fd07221e00.<<" (possibly that causes the problems??)
