[Bug 1883174] [NEW] Some desktop icons disappear
Public bug reported: OS: Ubuntu 20.04 GNOME: 3.36.2 Extension: 3.36.2 Sometimes, some icons in my Desktop folder just don't appear on the desktop. The missing icons aren't invisible, it's like they're not in the folder. Clicking on the empty space where they should be does nothing. Mousing over the empty space does nothing. [Bug 832007] Re: Don't display in "Startup Applications" should be reverted
There are hacks to remove bluetooth utterly. The OP perhaps wants to remove bluetooth on his computer entirely, but the option of turning bluetooth off by default should exist. Bluetooth is something that should not be on except when needed, for safety reasons (though its state on Ubuntu is not visible by default). Also, some users do not use it, or use it rarely, so the process should not eat CPU resources unnecessarily. tl;dr version: The option to turn bluetooth off by default should exist. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-bluetooth in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/832007 Title: Don't display in "Startup Applications" should be reverted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-bluetooth/+bug/832007/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 889940] Re: clicking on folder with open Nautilus instance should open in new tab
Put this down as Wishlist, if you like, but I would argue that this is established behaviour in web browsers. There was a paradigm shift from multiple windows to multiple tabs in order to reduce clutter, and all major browsers on all PC and tablet platforms today subscribe to this paradigm. It is easier to shift between tabs in the same window, as compared to windows (which would require activating Scale when there are several windows open). It is also easier to drag between tabs as the distance travelled by the mouse would be smaller. Even without a mouse, Ctrl+C, Alt+#, Ctrl+V is easier than switching windows because Alt+Tab is now an application switcher rather than a window switcher. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/889940 Title: clicking on folder with open Nautilus instance should open in new tab To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/889940/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 875179] Re: Pressing eject button in nautilus does not safely remove device
"Unmount" removes a single mounted partition, whereas "safely remove" removes all partitions. An observable difference include the disk's continued presence in both Nautilus and Disk Utility. [Bug 876290] [NEW] Ctrl+Alt+Del mapped to log out dialogue
Public bug reported: OS: Ubuntu 11.10 Oneiric stable Ctrl+Alt+Del used to be the keymapping for offering Shutdown, Restart, Sleep, Hibernate, etc, with the focus on Shutdown. Ergo, it was a quick way of shutting down the computer via keyboard. In Oneiric, this has been remapped to throwing up the Log Out dialogue. This leaves no easy way to shut down the computer using the keyboard. Even Alt+F4, which is used to shut down applications (presumably for the comfort of users migrating from Windows), does not throw up the Shut Down dialogue.
