[Bug 923325] [NEW] Setting Developer to Camera on RAW files loses rotation orientation

2012-01-29 Thread Scott Cove
Public bug reported:

Setting the Developer in the Photo menu to Camera inside Shotwell
causes the orientation of portrait photos to be lost causing you to have
to re-rotate the image. The thumbnail in the library also rotates to
landscape mode until the photo is re-rotated manually. This is
happening with Nikon NEF RAW files from a D3100 Camera - i have not had
any other RAW files to test and try to duplicate.

The rotation is in the metadata as shown by exifprobe, and may be
related to this bug:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/shotwell/+bug/889738 as i am
also not getting any metadata in the rendered file.

Version is Ubuntu 11.10 running Shotwell 0.11.6

[Bug 889738] Re: Shotwell doesn't show meta data from RAW file (exposure, aperture etc.)

2012-01-29 Thread Scott Cove
I also have this problem. I am using Nikon NEF RAW files from D3100.
Previous versions of shotwell would embed the exif data into the
rendered JPG's - but the newest (0.11.6) does not for me. That is the
Basic info is there and correct, but the Extended information is not.
The Extended information is just showing the rendered jpg's name an
location - eg - ~/Shotwell_Library/DSC_0991.NEF_developer.jpg

The rest is blank.
