[Bug 386929] Re: Evolution Contacts crash on PDA sync when using WebDAV source
I get some weird behavior. 1) I use gpilotd with WebDAV contacts in a normal fashion - it crashes constantly 2) I use gpilotd with apport started - it doesn't crash 3) I use gpiloted after stopping apport - it doesn't crash 4) I reboot, I use gpilotd a few times - after some time it starts crashing constantly again 5) repeat with (2) So, I have no crash dump file. I will keep apport enabled for now and see if this fixes my problem. Then maybe we can find the actual cause. -- Evolution Contacts crash on PDA sync when using WebDAV source https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/386929 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 386929] [NEW] Evolution Contacts crash on PDA sync when using WebDAV source
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: evolution Today I copied all my Evolution contacts to a WebDAV source to keep them synchronized between machines. I use PDA sync for my contacts and changed the EAdress conduit to use the new contacts source. When synchronizing contacts with the PDA, the Contacts part of Evolution crashes (see error messages). It only comes back by doing evolution --force-shutdown and re-starting it. This happens repeatedly, and after switching back to local Contacts, synchronization works flawless again. The debug output and error messages are probably not very helpful; Could somebody please direct me to a more appropriate way of debugging these part crashes, where Evolution stays alive? ** Affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: palm pda sync synchronize visor webdav -- Evolution Contacts crash on PDA sync when using WebDAV source https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/386929 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 159685] screensavers-personal-slideshow should not show hidden directories
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-screensaver Last time the screensavers-personal-slideshow ran (a screensaver that shows pictures from ~/Bilder, which is something like ~/Pictures in English), I saw some pictures that I don't really want people to see; This was the first time I became aware of the existence of this screensaver. It's annoying, yes. [Bug 138390] Won't load images from gnome-vfs source
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gthumb I'm currently using gthumb on my laptop using the Ubuntu LiveCD, watching images on my workstation using gnome-vfs (SSH connection). It works alright for the first 57 images (of 707 vacation pictures), but the 58th image (and subsequent) won't load at all: No thumbnail, and when double clicking, no image shown. Also, gthumb won't load EXIF data of these images. Reloading or restarting gthumb doesn't make any difference. I don't know how to debug this. strace shows too much information, gthumb shows no errors on STDERR. Neither /tmp nor /home/ubuntu are full. Swap has still 32 MB free (not much, but should be enough for a picture of 3 MB, and it shouldn't matter anyway). Affected versions are feisty (2.10.2-0ubuntu1) and gutsy (2.10.5-0ubuntu2). [Bug 72468] Re: Trash looks empty, isn't
I use the Trash applet about weekly. It works most of the time. If there was no trash applet, I'd have no way to empty (or look at) my trash at all. Yes, there are things like enabling the desktop icon - but before they're shipping Ubuntu with a desktop trash instead of the trash applet, I'd rather suggest to fix the bug. My point is that the software's buggy, yes - but it's far from unusable for me and so it should stay; Also, the workaround needs such a long time to implement (and would change the Ubuntu usability) that I'm sure someone will fix the bug before. Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm When I suspend/hibernate from GDM for the first time, it works alright. After resuming and trying a second time, nothing happens. I'll attach part of my syslog. Might be a problem with NetworkManager? [Bug 76925] Re: Can't suspend/hibernate second time
I just noticed there's just a huge pause; After about 30 or 60 seconds, the suspend/hibernate starts and works perfectly. Maybe there's something interesting in my syslog? A proper workaround is probably to just do sudo delgroup username and then to re-add the user, altough editing /etc/groups will *probably* do the same. -- [users-admin] Adding a previously existing user fails silently https://launchpad.net/bugs/66051 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 54684] Re: High CPU usage
BJizzle: If you're not using Nautilus to get high CPU usage, your problems have nothing to do with this bug. You should open a new bug for it. juantovar: Sorry to say, but this is the wrong place. You might want to check ubuntuforums.org or #ubuntu on FreeNode (IRC) if you want to analze the problem, then post bug new reports when you need to. [Bug 68563] Crashes when using malformed recipients in nautilus Send to
Public bug reported: (This is on dapper, haven't tested in edgy yet) When using the nautilus Send to feature for files and using a malformed recipient, like a or [EMAIL PROTECTED], [EMAIL PROTECTED] (seems to be connected with spaces after the first recipient), but not with a regular mail adresse (like [EMAIL PROTECTED]), Evolution crashes. [Bug 56071] Re: crashed using send to from nautilus context with braces
Upstream suggests this is an issue with spaces, not with the commas/semicolons or braces. I'm sitting right next to Michael and we just checked it side-by-side with reset gedit configuration... he has the bug, I don't.
