you plan to fix it yourself and then you can assign the bug to you or

Unimplemented annotation: POPPLER_ANNOT_CARET. It is a known issue and it
might be implemented in the future.

[Bug 1831588] Re: Slow photo saving from Evince to my folder in Nautilus

2019-06-04 Thread Sebastien Bacher
It's fine to report to the distribution/Ubuntu first in that case. The
behaviour you describe doesn't seem like something that is due to an
Ubuntu change or specific to Ubuntu so after looking at it we are
suggesting it gets reported upstream. If you can do it that would be
best since you can reproduce the problem and are able to provide
details, if you prefer us to do it and act as relay for questions we can
also do that. (also, do you call 'nautilus' the save dialog that let you
pick a folder and filename? if so that's not part of nautilus but the
standard gtk fileselector widget)

If you have a failed boot then the next start should automatically open
the grub menu, so if you power down the machine on the stuck logo and
turn the machine again it should open it?

Thank you for your bug report, the nautilus file-manager doesn't seem
involved there though? From the video it looks like you just save the
image from evince (which uses a gtk fileselector to pick the

[Bug 1812909] Re: disks application screws up when manipulating partitions

2019-06-03 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures.

At a minimum, we need:
1. The specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem.
2. The behavior you expected.
3. The behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!

[Bug 1823857] Re: Backport to bionic a patch for improved fractional scaling

2019-05-29 Thread Sebastien Bacher
** Description changed:

+ * Impact
+ In some cases after a configuration chang ethe "apply" button is not displayed
+
+ * Test case
+ On a multimonitor setup, go to settings -> display and change the monitors
layout and zoom factor, following a change a "apply" button should be displayed
+
+ * Regression potential
+ The change is in the monitor configurations logic, just make sure that
changing resolution/layouts work correctly and is restored are a logout/login
cycle
+
+ --
+
I have been debugging why I do not get "Apply" button in Displays view
when my primary monitor is on the left of the external monitor, but it
appears when it is on the right. I traced the problem down to this issue
  and patch:

  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/issues/412
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-control-center/merge_requests/346

Reading this issue tracker I see that some issues people are reporting
my be connected to this problem. I would suggest, if possible, that this
patch is backported to Bionic and its version of gnome-control-center.

Public bug reported:

* Impact
That's a GNOME bugfix update, the summary of the changes can be seen there

No specific test case, play with different settings and ensure they work
correcly

https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/GNOME

* Regression potential

Based on the fixes in that update
- Check that the application panel icons looks right
- Try to change your screen settings and verify it still works
- Look at the sound panel for UI problems

[Bug 1815602] Re: [SRU] Update epiphany-browser to 3.28.5 in Bionic

2019-05-28 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Newer versions are in cosmic and disco

** Description changed:

  Impact:

- 3.28.5 - September 21, 2018
- ===
-
- This release is intended to fix video playback on YouTube. We believe that
- YouTube began requiring media source extensions to play WebM videos on Tuesday
- of this week, so we have enabled it.
-
- You are strongly encouraged to update to WebKitGTK+ 2.22.2 and the forthcoming
- GStreamer 1.14.4 to minimize video playback disruptions. It's not really
- reliable enough to be enabled yet, but it's a whole lot better than no
YouTube.
-
- 3.28.4 - September 2, 2018
- ==
-
- - Improve performance of adblocker (#37)
- - Ensure correct address is displayed in security popover when starting loads
(#503)
- - Fix crash on homedepot.com
- - Improve use of Safe Browsing threat lists
- - Fix miscellaneous memory leaks
-
- 3.28.3.1 - June 8, 2018
- ===
-
- - Fix missing symbol in 3.28.3 (#33)
-
- 3.28.3 - June 7, 2018
- =
-
- - Fix CVE-2018-11396/CVE-2018-12016 (#795740)
- - Allow Ctrl+T in app mode again due to unintended consequences (#796204)
- - Don't remember passwords when the setting is disabled (#796219)
- - Fix password manager crash on chase.com (GitLab #11)
-
- 3.28.2.1 - May 22, 2018
- ===
-
- - New release because I pushed the 3.28.2 tag too soon.
-
- 3.28.2 - May 21, 2018
- =
-
- - Again disallow Ctrl+T in app mode (#795007)
- - Remove problematic adblock filters (#796245)
- - Fix crashes when signing out of Firefox Sync (Gabriel Ivascu)
-
- 3.28.1.1 - April 19, 2018
- =
-
- - Fix two crashes (#783756 and #794784/#795370)
-
+ That's a GNOME bugfix version, summary of the changes on
+ https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/epiphany/blob/gnome-3-28/NEWS

  Test case:
  --
  - Run GNOME Web as usual and browse to different websites.
  - Play videos on YouTube since this update fixes video playback on YouTube.
-

  Regression potential:
  --
Regression potential is low since this is a bug-fix release as part of GNOME
micro-releases, which cherry-pick only fixes to the stable 3.28 branch.
