[Bug 516023] Re: Critcally low shown on unplug at 100% full
Why cant the gpm poll the events a few times after a specific event for some interval of time and then make a decision as to what to do. 3-4 seconds is enough for the power-surge to correct itself right? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-power-manager in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/516023 Title: Critcally low shown on unplug at 100% full -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 239952]
This remains a huge issue for me as of Nov 9/2010, a couple of years after is was reported. My system will not open any .DOC despite the fact that I have associates this extension variously with Word 2003 and Open Office Writer. I am now running Win 7 Pro. The error message is also unclear and unhelpfulthe associated helper application does not exist. What I'd like to suggest is adding what the system thinks the associated helper application is? That would help me find a workaround. At the moment I do not know what or where's it's looking. This should be raised from Normal to Urgent level. For those encountering this issue in Firefox and Thunderbird, it almost forces us to use different software and dump Mozilla. -- firefox - the associated helper application does not exist https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239952 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to epiphany-browser in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 239952]
Thanks for the fast response. In Thunderbird, there is no Applications pane (that's in Firefox) but there is an Attachments pane, which is where I set it for Microsoft Word (which fails). I have also tried other programs that I do have loaded, and which work in other situations, like Open Office Writer -- everything fails. This is how I set the associations I referred to in my original report. As I said, nothing works. One possibility is that, if I used the currert version of MS Word, it might actually work. The fact that I crippled the new Word (for which I have lo license because I like the older versions better) may be at the root of my specific problem. -- firefox - the associated helper application does not exist https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/239952 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to epiphany-browser in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 296449] Re: After mounting ext3 partition from Nautilus appears messageAn Internal System Error has occurred
Okay... I *think* that, at least in my case, the error seems related to bug #272410 (an error from PackageKit). I don't know if this is the case for the original poster though. (I sometimes see the PackageKit icon appear and quickly disappear in the notification area in the taskbar just before I see the error.) -- After mounting ext3 partition from Nautilus appears messageAn Internal System Error has occurred https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296449 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 296449] Re: After mounting ext3 partition from Nautilus appears messageAn Internal System Error has occurred
I wasn't sure if any of my old local configuration settings from Hardy were causing a problem, so I created a new user (with an empty home directory), and logged in with the new user account. A few minutes after logging in I see the same error, for this new user as well. I start my session through the standard graphical login screen (gdm?). I've attached the .xsession-errors for the new user. ** Attachment added: .xsession-errors http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20286602/xsession-errors -- After mounting ext3 partition from Nautilus appears messageAn Internal System Error has occurred https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296449 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 296449] Re: After mounting ext3 partition from Nautilus appears messageAn Internal System Error has occurred
I get this same error on Intrepid every time I log into Gnome (with no other input from me). This was after a fresh install of Intrepid on my system. I did, however, copy over my home directory from my old Hardy system... so all of my local settings are from my Hardy install. Another change I made was to /etc/fstab -- I added an additional mount (an ext3 filesystem). So, this is possibly the same bug. I've attached my .xsession-errors. ** Attachment added: .xsession-errors http://launchpadlibrarian.net/19894184/xsession-errors -- After mounting ext3 partition from Nautilus appears messageAn Internal System Error has occurred https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296449 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 211731] [NEW] Keyboard focus does not switch on closing application
Public bug reported: I just upgraded from Gutsy to Hardy Beta yesterday. And I have been seeing a weird behavior with the keyboard focus. Suppose I have two windows open, window1 and window2, and window2 currently has focus. Now, if I close window2, the focus switches to window1. But typing anything in window1 doesn't work at all. Even if I click inside window1, and then start typing, nothing happens. The only way I can switch keyboard focus to window1 is by clicking on the title bar of window1. I tried this with firefox (window2) and gnome-terminal (window1). Then with firefox (window2) and eclipse (window1). And once with evolution (window2) and terminal (window1). I also tried it with and without compiz. Same symptoms. I have a Thinkpad T61 running Hardy Beta, upgraded from Gutsy. Let me know if I can provide any other information. ** Affects: gnome-desktop (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Keyboard focus does not switch on closing application https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/211731 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-desktop in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

Re: [Bug 105734] Re: evolution-data-server consumes all cpu
I'm afraid I haven't been able to reproduce the bug after the one time I saw it. Once I opened the evolution calendar, the system was back to normal, and I haven't seen that behavior since then. [Bug 74070] Re: Google Calendar ics support
I am having the exact same issue on ubuntu edgy (fully updated)... evolution 2.8.1. Here's how you should be able to recreate the error: (1) Start evolution, (2) Switch to the calendar window. (3) Create a New Calendar, with these options... Type:On the Web, check Copy calendar contents locally, URL: webcal://www.google.com/calendar/ical/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/public/basic.ics (This is US National Holidays public Calendar). (4) On clicking Ok, the calendar will work fine... even on terminating and restarting evolution, the calendar works fine. (5) Now reboot your system and then restart evolution... switching to the calendar window should give you an error like this: Error on webcal://www.google.com/... cannot resolve hostname. I get six such error messages, one for each web calendar I am subscribed to. I guess the one thing that's common between the 6 calendars is that they are all google calendars... so it would be good to check if this happens with non-google web calendars as well. Here's another observation... I initially subscribed to 4 web calendars... and all 4 worked fine until I rebooted the system. Then I came to my home network (from work), and I got 4 error messages -- one for each calendar. Then I subscribed to 2 more calendars... and those worked fine. I kept getting only 4 error messages as long as I restarted evolution (without rebooting or logging off). But as soon as I rebooted the system, and started evolution (and switched to the calendar window), I got six error messages this time (still my home network). Any insights will be appreciated. Yet another followup... I have a second machine which runs Fedora Core 6, with evolution 2.8.2.1. I tried to recreate this error on that machine. I *do not* get the error on that system. So, it is possible that this is fixed in the CVS, and the next release (hopefully). -- Sid. -- Google Calendar ics support https://launchpad.net/bugs/74070 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 72857] Re: Alacarte lack a way to change all the users' menu in a snapshot
I'm having quite a similar setup here: 15 LTSP Clients with up to 800 users. I tried to use alacarte and sabayon for administration, but also had a lot of trouble with it. If you just want to remove the entries from users' desktops, you can go to /usr/share/applications and find and rename all the entries you don't want to be displayed. I just added a .disabled after the file names, i.e. applicationname.desktop.disabled. Alternatively you could set the permissions of the relevant bin files to 750, so that users are not allowed to start the programs anymore. But of course that doesnt remove the desktop entries... -- Alacarte lack a way to change all the users' menu in a snapshot https://launchpad.net/bugs/72857 -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
