[Bug 1313430] Re: Crashes on Ubuntu 14.04 when trying to connect to iPod

So basically it is not really possible to use any ipod, be it touch or
classic and this bug has low importance? Great!

Yes, it definitely is still happening with gnome 3 and alpha 3 of oneiric.

probably won't have itself solved magically.

[Bug 761850] Re: [natty] totem jumps to different time when scrolling in sidebar

2011-06-16 Thread Stefan Bethge
On trying it again, the problem seems to have changed (I normally don't
use long playlists that often in totem). It now only happens when the
list is actually not scrollable. So this might be the intended behaviour
and the original usability problem is solved.

[Bug 139627] Re: Clock applet opens wrong day in evolution

2011-03-27 Thread Stefan Bethge
Btw, this is actually a bug in the calendar applet. The command that is called
looks something like this evolution calendar:///?startdate=20110328T22Z
after clicking on march 29th. Evolution actually opens that date correctly.
Will this be fixed/not happen in natty since it doesn't use the panel anymore?

[Bug 193679] [NEW] totem crashed with SIGSEGV when no mixer available

2008-02-20 Thread Stefan Bethge
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: totem

When using my Edirol UA25 USB sound card, I can use it fine with jackd.
However, setting it as default sound card or selecting it for the various(?)
types of sound types in gnome-sound-properties, and testing the sound in there
or running totem or something else will instantly crash the playing program.
Testing in gnome-sound-properties plays the test beep sound for a very short
time and then crashes with a Segmentation Fault. I suspect this to happen
because the ua25 doesn't have a software mixer available. There are no problems
with the internal sound card. This was working in previous ubuntu versions (I'm

[Bug 73031] Re: places sidebar has graphical error

2007-04-22 Thread Stefan Bethge
'nvidia' that is, but to me it doesn't look so much like a video driver bug.
Especially not since it doesn't happen if i drag a folder.
This even makes it probable that it is not in gtk but in nautilus itself.
Please try it some more times if the bug really does not occur on your machine.
I think it might not be trivial to reproduce it if you don't know when it
happens.

[Bug 73031] places sidebar has graphical error

2006-11-23 Thread Stefan Bethge
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

The sidebar in mode places has the ability to hold shortcuts which can be added
using dragdrop. When hovering a folder icon or anything else over that area in
the sidebar, a line indicating where the dropped item will be at appears.
If I move the icon away from the sidebar without releasing it,
the line does not disappear again and will stay there until closing nautilus.
It only appears to do that if no other vertical element has been crossed, like
when an item is dropped into the shortcut folder.

[Bug 69983] list of known applications in run dialog reacts really weird

2006-11-02 Thread Stefan Bethge
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

When I type 'syna' in the command line, the list of known applictations
shows synaptic package manager. Then I want to double click it, where
the first click puts the command line for synaptic to the edit fild
above. The second click then goes again where synaptic was, so instead
starts the screensaver. This is really annoying.

[Bug 41338] Re: nautilus-sendto crashes when .evolution is symlinked

2006-10-31 Thread Stefan Bethge
I'm sorry, not at the moment as I updated to edgy. nautilus-sendto is
now 0.7-2ubuntu6 and does not have that bug anymore. Maybe I can try at
another dapper machine if I run into one. But I guess you can easily
reproduce it yourself. Just create .evolution as a symlink that points
to a non-existing directory. Then running nautilus-sendto will crash.

[Bug 41338] Re: nautilus-sendto crashes when .evolution is symlinked

2006-10-27 Thread Stefan Bethge
The error is still there. I doubt that it is the same as bug 41915 since
the reporter tested with and without .evolution. I only get the error
when .evolution is a there but links to a non-existant place.

nautilus-sendto:

  Versions-Tabelle:
 *** 0.5-0ubuntu4 0

(By now I'm not using evolution anymore. I think it is not suited very
well for the general desktop user, I think it is way too heavy and
unintuitive. Maybe in the future ubuntu might feature a combination of a
small mail client and extra adressbook and calendar?)

[Bug 51144] Re: search with beagle backend does not always search in chosen directory

2006-07-06 Thread Stefan Bethge
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 28537 ***

Sorry, but the behavior I described is not the same as in bug #28537, therefore
I opened a new one.
I have the problem that I _can't_ only search in the directory I specified but
all other directories with similar names are searched as well. This is a
problem because this affects search results. In #28537 only an interface
problem is described.

[Bug 51144] search with beagle backend does not always search in chosen directory

2006-06-27 Thread Stefan Bethge
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus

When searching files with beagle enabled, I can add additional search criteria
to the search. If I add a directory to search in, in my case 'gajim', I always
get results from 'gajim-trunk' and all other directories beginning with 'gajim'
(the dirs being one level above with gajim in their name get displayed as
well). It seems like the dir is added to the beagle search and therefore does
substring search as well?
The directories are in my home dir like this:
~
  -- gajim
  -- gajim_trunk
  -- ...
I expected files to only be displayed from inside 'gajim'.

[Bug 45619] loading of icons in application menu happens after opening it - entries move away

2006-05-19 Thread Stefan Bethge
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-panel

When opening the application menu for the first time after starting the
system, icons for every entry get loaded. All entries are displayed
without icons at first, so I select a submenu which opens but shortly
after, all the icons are getting displayed and the sizes change, so the
submenu is at another place and my mouse cursor is hovering over another
menu. I think it will get in the way in a normal workflow. Might it be
better to load the application/other menu icons in the background after
starting gnome-panel?

[Bug 41604] search field on top doesn't produce expected results

 Status: Unconfirmed

Description:
When searching with yelp after opening an application manual, the search gives
results from all content in yelp, way too much.
This is the same with or without beagle enabled. The beagle search
gives a different search view without text quotes and fewer results btw.
I think it is quite distracting and misleading for new users looking for help.
