[Bug 335623] Re: Intrepid - Jaunty Alpha5 : can not mark 'ubuntu-desktp' for upgrade

2009-03-01 Thread Steve Kowalik
@Robert, please don't do that. The fix has been uploaded to Jaunty, it
just hasn't been published yet. There is a delay between uploading the
package, waiting for the package to build, and then having the package
hit firstly archive.ubuntu.com, and then mirrors.

I'm going to set this back to Fix Released, as I've just verified via
the build logs that launchpad-integration 0.1.23 does fix the issue.

[Bug 177821] Re: Please merge gimp 2.4.3-1 (main) from Debian unstable

2007-12-21 Thread Steve Kowalik
Okay, a few things.

- Conflicts and Replaces against gimp-print and stop building with
--without-print
That isn't an Ubuntu change, since it's exactly what Debian are doing, and I
believe it was marked as dropped in 2.4.2-1ubuntu1.

* Modify Maintainer value to match Debian-Maintainer-Field Spec
That's an existing Ubuntu changes, and should listed under the remaining Ubuntu
changes

Personally, I'd prefer the first two lines to be:
 * Merge from Debian unstable. (LP: #177821)
 * Remaining Ubuntu changes:

Other than that, the merge looks good, keep me posted.

[Bug 41159] Re: timezone data is duplicated over at least three packages in main

I don't think icu actually includes any timezone data files. Would
someone else mind double checking?

[Bug 137671] UVF Exception for gimp 2.4.0~rc2

2007-09-05 Thread Steve Kowalik
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gimp

I think we need to consider allowing in the second RC of the 2.4.0
release of GIMP. The two RC releases have been bugfixes only, with a few
features being nailed down in 2.3.19

Changes in GIMP 2.4.0-rc2
=

- more improvements and bug fixes in the rectangle tools
- antialias the display for zoom levels between 100% and 200%
- fix zoomed-out display problems
- improve handling of JPEG settings
- fix script-fu error reporting
- on OS X, get rid of menubars in windows and use the global menubar
- fix plug-ins using GimpZoomPreview
- throw properly catchable exceptions from foreign script-fu function
  (like PDB wrappers)
- bug fixes

Changes in GIMP 2.4.0-rc1
=

- further improvement to the Print plug-in
- completed the color management functionality for 2.4
- store JPEG setting with the image and use them when saving as JPEG
- further improved the rectangle tools, in particular handling of the
  fixed aspect ratio
- added color profile selector widget
- further improved the display quality for zoomed-out views

Changes in GIMP 2.3.19
==

- support long layer names in PSD files
- improved EXIF handling in the JPEG file plug-in
- added control for the playback speed in the Animation Playback plug-in
- avoid needless image preview invalidation
- allow to edit the image comment in the Image Properties dialog
- further improved rectangle tools
- made JPEG save parameters user-configurable
- avoid color conversions between identical ICC color profiles
- improved Print plug-in
- improved loading and saving of indexed TGA images
- bug fixes and code cleanup

I have a test package built on my PPA, which I've tested myself.

[Bug 127705] compiz doesn't talk when switching windows

2007-07-23 Thread Steve Kowalik
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compiz

When using Metacity with a11y enabled, the window switcher will speak
the name of window that is about to be switched to. Switching to compiz
in Feisty Fawn at least, and it doesn't speak. Given that compiz will be
the default window manager, and you can't be certain that a visually-
impared user will have a sub-standard video card, it should speak.

[Bug 96373] Re: [UNMETDEPS] dasher has unmet dependencies

2007-04-17 Thread Steve Kowalik
This bug was more than likely due to dasher 4.3.5-0ubuntu1 sucessfully
building on i386, and failing on amd64. This is fixed with the
4.4.1-0ubuntu1 upload, which I've confirmed is now installable.

[Bug 62446] Re: at-spi-registryd crash (please attach backtraces, check crash reports before)

2006-10-03 Thread Steve Kowalik
I have seen this as well. However, it is problematic to generate a
backtrace from at-spi-registryd, as it drops to T state (in ps aux)
whenever you attach to it using either gdb or strace, and kill -CONT'ing
it does not help, and it actually makes Gnome in general not respond.

I am more than willing to help debug this problem, but not while it
can't be debugged by the means pointed out in the wiki page you linked
to.

[Bug 46259] Connection icon bounces

2006-05-23 Thread Steve Kowalik
Public bug reported:

Running a just upgraded latest Dapper (24/5), the connection icon in the
notification area seems to be bounce. The icon that is used for showing
that the interface is sending or receiving traffic is positioned lower
than the icon that shows no traffic. This makes watching traffic a
little annoying as the icon keeps bouncing around the notification area.
