Having the libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental package installed no longer
makes things work for me after its move from main to universe.
Quadrapassel and my own python-clutter using app are back to throwing
errors trying to set the current GLX drawable.

After installing libgl1-mesa-dri-experimental I can successfully start

I'm using nouveau on an up to date Maverick.

Perhaps this is not the right place to discuss this, but Milan's
question of why does UbuntuStudio diverge from stock with regard to
NetworkManager is a legitimate one. Is the reasoning documented
somewhere?

From poking around in the gst-plugins-good tree, it looks like the HAL
dependency comes down to the GstHalAudioSink and GstHalAudioSrc
elements. So is it just a case of passing a configure switch to not
build them or are gudev analogs required?

Right, but the original code the gudev-using version replaces doesn't
seem to have any hal dependencies. It's hard coded to just check
/dev/video and /dev/v4l2/video and doesn't seem to use the hal
enumerate device functions. But perhaps I'm missing the larger picture.
So for the larger
I can confirm this behaviour in nautilus 2.28.1-0ubuntu1. The view
setting was changed by going to Edit-Preferences in a nautilus window
and in the Views tab selecting Use compact layout.

I'm attaching a debdiff that fixes it the same way it fixed upstream.
Perhaps it should be done as a dpatch instead. Or even better package an
svn snapshot and gain the various translation work done as well. I'm not
sure why there are no upstream releases being done.

I created and related to this bug a Launchpad branch with the above
mentioned simple patch. Upstream has talked about a larger plugin
management change that will make this bug no longer applicable though.

I added a comment to the upstream bug with a simple patch fixing the
issue. It was made against SVN trunk but it should be easy to use for
the deb as well.
