I have the same problem with 2 screens with Sony Vaio (Ubuntu 11.10 32bit). timo@vaio:~$ nvidia-settings -q screens 2 X Screens on vaio:0 [0] vaio:0.0 (GeForce GT 230M) [1] vaio:0.1 (GeForce GT 230M) The second screen has a white background.
