[Bug 351415] [NEW] gdmsetup Help from Gnome is not that helpful
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gdm Hi, The documentation which appears when Help is hit from the gdmsetup gui is not very helpful. It brings up the full gdm configuration documentation, mostly referencing text file configuration, which for the lay-user is not at all helpful with regard to the GUI they are actually looking at. ** Affects: gdm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- gdmsetup Help from Gnome is not that helpful https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/351415 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 346806] Re: gnome-system-monitor does not always show all processes
I can reproduce this under jaunty. 1. Open up gnome-system monitor, Processes tab. 2. View - All processes. 3. Open terminal, execute: sudo updatedb 4. Confirm updatedb is running (ps). 5. Refresh gnome-system-monitor list, updatedb does NOT appear in list of processes. ** Changed in: gnome-system-monitor (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed -- gnome-system-monitor does not always show all processes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/346806 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-system-monitor in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

I can confirm this behaviour under jaunty, following the steps provided. I'd also recommend reporting this upstream, via: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/ And link the issue to this Bug as appropriate. [Bug 112955] Re: vino (vnc) keyboard mapping problem
This is still a problem under jaunty at this point. The workaround mentioned in this thread re: keyboard layouts does still work, but is naturally very annoying. This issue seems to be reported and being tracked on the tightvnc sourceforge page, but no progress at this stage: http://sourceforge.net/tracker/index.php?func=detailaid=2232405group_id=14067atid=114067 -- vino (vnc) keyboard mapping problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/112955 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 344264] [NEW] Crashes under tightvncserver, brings down X session
Public bug reported: Hi, I am running tightvncserver from the command line, using the default options, having set a password. I can then connect to this desktop remotely, using tightvncviewer under Windows. This is stable. However, the windows do not have title bars and may not be moved. I notice that metacity is not running. I start it manually in a terminal (metacity ). The title bars appear and the system may be used. However, it does not take much to bring down the system. An example would be to try and run Synaptic Package Manager. Having entered my password again, the session is killed. The following error appears in /var/log/messages: Mar 17 14:13:18 petrucci bonobo-activation-server (tmg-26559): could not associate with desktop session: Failed to co nnect to socket /tmp/dbus-iqho7SsUe7: Connection refused I have turned off Visual Effects for my user. [Bug 344264] Re: Crashes under tightvncserver, brings down X session
Interestingly, adjusting the /usr/bin/tightvncserver script back to its default geometry of 1024x768 appears to have fixed this issue. I do, however, need to start metacity manually still to get the ability to move windows. But it does not crash... The geometry was 1280x1024 with a dept of 24 when it was crashing as described above. -- Crashes under tightvncserver, brings down X session https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/344264 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to metacity in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
