[Bug 1164016] Re: restore type-ahead find

2019-04-23 Thread Tuomo Sipola
Please bring this functionality to Ubuntu's Nautilus. Disco now has the
distressing search functionality extended even to the save dialog.

The Gnome team is extremely resistant to bring back the old intuitive
functionality. I tried to explain the problems at
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/issues/244 , as did many others.
People are still requesting the old type-ahead thing, so the trade-offs
have not been accounted for.

[Bug 1666681] Re: Restore interactive_search.patch (type-ahead search)

2018-05-14 Thread Tuomo Sipola
Lubomir, thank you for doing this! Chris Billington's suggestion about
being able to restore this behavior to the official Nautilus is a great
one. I'd love to see official support for this feature... actually, I
think it is crucial to have this option available for the users.

This is an essential feature that needs to be brought back. I have the
same problems as Dmitriy and drunckoder. Everything worked nicely in
17.04 after disabling recursive search.

[Bug 228266] [NEW] poor mo3 support in rhythmbox

2008-05-08 Thread Tuomo Sipola
Public bug reported:

There exits a module music format (tracker music) MO3. If I remember
correctly, it is IT (Impulse Tracker) files with mp3 or ogg compression
for the samples. Rhythmbox loads them but plays only the samples
consequently very slowly. Either there should be proper mo3 support or
.mo3-files should not be imported to the music library in Rhythmbox.

[Bug 228266] Re: poor mo3 support in rhythmbox

2008-05-08 Thread Tuomo Sipola
I use totem-xine and it doesn't play the file, no plugin found to play
that kind of file.

As far as I understand, the format is designed by
http://www.un4seen.com/ . The library to play the files seems to be
proprietary. More info on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MO3 and
http://www.un4seen.com/mo3.html . Somebody has also specified the format
unofficially http://lclevy.free.fr/mo3/ .

For example, Malekith (http://malekith.free.fr/) has released some tunes
in MO3 format. One such file can be found in
http://malekith.free.fr/Modules/cotrs.zip .

[Bug 36189] Re: Applets do not scale well with changing resolution

2007-10-31 Thread Tuomo Sipola
This happens especially when using full-screen applications (eg. SDL
games) that have resolution lower than the resolution of the desktop.
Many of the panel elements are moved. Sometimes it is the logout button,
sometimes the Firefox quick start icon and sometimes the notification
area.

[Bug 53716] Too generic error message when file names (/encodings?) are not Windows-compatible

2006-07-22 Thread Tuomo Sipola
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: nautilus-cd-burner

If there are non-Windows compatible files while burning a large amount
of files to a DVD (or CD) the cd-burner gives a message saying that
some of the files are not Windows compatible.

While this is very nice there's no way to list the files in question
through the GUI. The program expects me to search through a very large
amoun of files.

It would be nice if there was a button See details to see the files in
question.

[Bug 53716] Re: Too generic error message when file names (/encodings?) are not Windows-compatible

2006-07-22 Thread Tuomo Sipola
I use the newest version 6.06 LTS (fresh install although old home
directory).

I think once using the iso-image tool on terminal it reported files
being non-compliant when the encodings of the file names themselves
where somehow not nice (ie. including some bad characters). The initial
conversion from ISO- encoding to the UTF-8 of my system when
receiving those files from a Windows machine might have made the names
non-compatible.

I think the problem is the same. As the bug states, I'd like to see
which files are not compatible so that I could easily search them and
rename appropriately.
