[Bug 1540110] Re: gnome-disk-utility (shown as "Disks") shows SMART option grayed for USB connect disks despite being available.

2017-01-29 Thread Turbo Nene
Maybe it is due to the fact (https://www.smartmontools.org/wiki
/Supported_USB-Devices) that USB connected disks usually need a '-d'
option to enable S.M.A.R.T. support.

In fact, for the same disk, trying first:

  $ sudo smartctl -d scsi -H -i -A -l error -l selftest '/dev/sdb'

gives "SMART support is: Unavailable - device lacks SMART capability.",
whereas:

  $ sudo smartctl -d scsi -d sat -H -i -A -l error -l selftest
'/dev/sdb'

gives "SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability.//SMART
support is: Enabled", and the full output expected.

And also in GSmartControl I have to add the "-d sat" option to
Preferences/Drives to enable S.M.A.R.T. support and view attributes.

The difficulty to include this in gnome-disk-utility is that each disk
needs a different "-d" option...

[Bug 1201180] Re: Pressing power button turns off the PC ignoring the presence of another session manager

2013-10-02 Thread Turbo
Hi,

In order to be sure, I created a virtual machine two days ago and
installed Kubuntu 13.10 beta 2. Then tried simulating the press power
button and, exactly as my personal PC, it turned off inmediatly
ignoring every single option in System Preferences.

Please, visit the other link:

Really worried here, as Kubuntu 13.10 will be release in a few weeks
from now :-o :-o

[Bug 1079566] Re: slow by opening local folder

2012-11-16 Thread Turbo
I have this same problem. This was a fresh install if the 32bit desktop
on an atom chip.

I also see this message in the .xsession-errors file:

Nautilus-Share-Message: Called net usershare info but it failed: 'net
usershare' returned error 255: net usershare: cannot open usershare directory
/var/lib/samba/usershares. Error No such file or directory
Please ask your system administrator to enable user sharing.

I'm not running Samba, nor do I need to in my pure Linux NFS world.

I fixed the above by creating the directory it wanted, but things are
still slow unless I start nautilus as root.

[Bug 983505] Re: Ubuntu 12.04 beta 2 not showing copy progress dialog

2012-04-18 Thread Turbo
Hi,

Unfortunately , this problem seems to be quite sporadic as so far I had
no luck replicating it :-(

But anyway, there is pic attached and this is what happened: As you can
see, the copy process is fine and running, but that time you were unable
to show it. If you clicked, the folder opens, but not the dialog. Alt-
Tab, even closing everything else neither, I also checked the working
spaces to no avail. At the end, I just sit and waited until the folders
finished, looking at the small progress in the Dash board.

Regards.

[Bug 983505] [NEW] Ubuntu 12.04 beta 2 not showing copy progress dialog

2012-04-16 Thread Turbo
Public bug reported:

Hi all.

I'm booting my USB with Ubuntu 12.04 beta 2 (build 14/April/2012).

I booted to copy several folders from one partition to another (done
right), the problem is that you can't see the copy dialog progress. In
the left bar you see it copying but I tried HARD to make it show,
including Alt-Tab, right click-- Show progress, Super-TAB, etc. So I
had to wait until finished just looking the progress in the small icon.

Best Regards.

Yes, I can confirm too, that the 12-hours format is the most common in

By the way, I reported the missing option in 9.04 (bug 337583) but they
said we know it and that was it...

far so good BUT when you try to add a new printer by navegating the SMB
shares, THE PRINTERS IN XP ARE NOT VISIBLE... Quite strange as the
mecanism should be the same. I ask you all to try this process and
confirm.

Regards.

Turbo.

PD: If I get the chance, will try to post images.

[Bug 222220] Re: the clock format option has no effect in GNOME 2.22

2008-05-14 Thread Turbo
Hi,

Thank you so much, the solution posted really fixed the problem.

But, you know, this bug is some kind of heritage from Gutsy
because before you couldn't choice 12 or 24 format directly
but doing something like you did here. I'm talking about the
Spanish (Latin) languages.

Only certain languages had the 12 or 24 format available.
It's great to have this fixed because choosing the date's
format is more a personal taste than a Region setting.
The only thing left is that developers fix this all the way down
in ALL the languages; from what you showed me here,
looks like a piece of cake to do ;-) ;-)

Best Regards.

Turbo.

[Bug 222220] Re: the clock format option has no effect in GNOME 2.22

2008-05-09 Thread Turbo
Hi.

It seems that the world is getting smaller (at least in the Ubuntu
comunity) ;-D

Looks like you found it first, =) I recently received my report as a duplicate
from yours, check it at:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-panel/+bug/211658

It seems to happen with the spanish versions only. Too bad, because
it's been there since the alpha beta releases and finally, made it into
the final version.

Best Regards.

Turbo.

[Bug 211658] Re: Time format not changing in Hardy Beta.

2008-04-23 Thread Turbo
Hi again.

Sorry it took me so long. I'm going to loose this PC where I test
Hardy :-(

Ok, here it goes, this is what LOCALE gives:

[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ locale
LANG=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_CTYPE=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_NUMERIC=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_TIME=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_COLLATE=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_MONETARY=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_MESSAGES=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_PAPER=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_NAME=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_ADDRESS=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_TELEPHONE=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_MEASUREMENT=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_IDENTIFICATION=es_CO.UTF-8
LC_ALL=

By the way, I just updated Hardy and the bug is still there.

Regards.

Turbo.

[Bug 8629] Re: Evolution setup wizard does not fit in 800x600

2008-03-31 Thread Turbo
I'm using a full patched Ubuntu 8.04 Beta in spanish.

As you can see in the attachment, Evolution cannot fix on 1024x768. The
worst part is the windows edges that show you the modified mouse pointer
for resizing but you can't change the size of the window (it's fixed).
This bug is pretty old, I was expecting to see it fixed in Hardy.

Best Regards.

Turbo.
