Just got this crash on Precise after switching to a workspace with
Nautilus as the top window and pressing Alt+F4 repeatedly to close all
windows. Nautilus froze and grayed out for a few moments, then while
asking me if I wanted to force quit it it crashed before I could click
anything.

Hi, I produced the changes to make that modified theme...I was actually
going to come here a bit later to suggest incorporating my changes into
Ambiance for Precise, but I have no idea what I will need to do to make
this possible. It seems like it's catching on with the people I shared
my changes
I just made my changed version that way because:
1) I had no idea of what I was doing mostly (main reason), yet I just wanted to
fix it
2) I like how the top of the sidebar integrates seamlessly with the bottom of
the titlebar
3) To me, there's no problem between the sidebar and the toolbar,
I'm also getting this issue in Oneiric, which I just checked out after
seeing http://askubuntu.com/questions/72208/print-screen-key-doesnt-
work-if-a-drop-down-menu-is-active . Interesting to note is that the
Print Screen key works if menus on the top panel in GNOME Shell are
open. I haven't
This crash occurred to me after I had locked my screen to get up and do
something else for a moment, while Gedit was running with a few tabs
open. Thankfully all my work was saved.
gedit 3.2.0-0ubuntu1 on Ubuntu 11.10 Beta 2.

I can also confirm that this is still an issue, as another crash just
occurred when I tried quitting Nautilus through the Unity launcher's
right-click menu. nautilus 1:3.2.0-0ubuntu5.

I can confirm this. I now do have Thunderbird with Lightning 1.0b7
installed and working, but it still won't show in Default Applications.
This seems like a regression from Natty where Evolution supported
calendars (including Google Calendar) right out of the box, while
Thunderbird needs a plugin
Just had this crash happen to me while running GNOME Shell on Oneiric. I
had Nautilus open for a while with two tabs open on my second workspace,
then it crashed when I came back later from my first workspace to close
it.

Well, just got a crash while gdb was attached! Followed the steps at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Backtrace to produce the following output, as
requested. (The crash itself occurred just after I did a whole bunch of
random stuff involving searching for files and switching tabs.)

This crash happened to me while running Nautilus in GNOME Shell.

Pranesh, if you are able to consistently reproduce these crashes (I
haven't been able to do so for a while now, despite my best efforts), if
you could kindly look at comment #22 above and get us a backtrace with
nautilus-dbg installed, I imagine that would still be VERY helpful.

The version numbers of the update and my package matched, so I double-
checked my Nautilus and sure enough, the problem's not there anymore.
Probably just needed to restart my machine for the fix to take effect.
At any rate, looks fixed now to me.

Lukasz, not sure now if I can do that. After this morning's updates 3D
stopped working entirely for me, and unfortunately it was Unity 3D's
Alt+Tab that I was often using to trigger the crash. I am having trouble
getting Unity 2D to do the same. Or maybe I was just (un)lucky before.
Nevertheless,
What do you know, just happened again to me under similar circumstances.
Maybe this is reproducible for me?
Also, could bug #849473 be a duplicate of this? It's not marked as such,
but it's the first thing to come up when I do a Google search for the
bug title.

I had this behavior occur while I was still testing Oneiric Beta 1 in a

straight on my desktop itself. I have not been able to get back into

This just happened to me shortly after I opened a tab in Nautilus to

This has happened to me now and then on Natty, and I just had the same
problem today on Oneiric. Extremely annoying when it happens.

I'm taking this bug to mean that Empathy should add support for all of
the graphical emoticons that are available in other IM applications. I
can say I am experiencing this problem as well, as one of my friends
with Trillian likes sending me all sorts of emoticons that I can't make
out on my end.
I, too, cannot confirm this.
