Lucid is still running with version 2.30.0. Please push the new version
that fixes 1 minute start-ups.
For new users, more than 1 minute to get help gives a real bad initial
impression of Ubuntu. This bug should be higher priority.

@Sebastien Bacher: The problem never went away, so it should never have
been closed. Creating a new bug just loses all the previous people
interested in the problem. If you're not interested simply unsubscribe.
I will re-open
The problem went away for a few weeks and then reappeared. Waiting 30
seconds to open a 1 page pdf is not normal. During the hanging, the cpu
is idling, so it's not doing some heavy duty calculation.
I have attached a new backtrace with more debug symbols. The program
was interrupted with ^C

file is present and on local filestore.

Same problem here on 8.10 i386. No applications menu and alacarte
crashes after uninstalling ubuntustudio.

Segfaulting when printing a large pdf document (220 pages).
In case it's relevant, I'm printing two-pages on one page, starting from page 7.
(evince:26513): Gnome-WARNING **:
By printing the document 50 pages at the time it printed ok. So perhaps
it's related to the document size.
The source document is 1.1Mb and pdf v.1.6
