As Tomas rightly noted it's even more complicated in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
than it was back in lucid, as you can't drag from the launcher and
dragging from the dash is more tricky because you have to findle with
the window position.

@Sebastian: the issue with gnome-dvb-setup probably deserves a own
report, but here is my correct channels.conf in case your interessted in
the differences.
@all: you can work around gnome-dvb-setup by coping & renaming a working
channels.conf to ~/.config/gnome-dvb-daemon/channels_DVB-T.conf

I don't think that the channels.conf is wrong as i did it with gnome-
dvb-setup. The file is from .config/gnome-dvb-daemon
I also tested the T2 device with Me-TV each time right before running
gnome-dvb-daemon.

okay now i tried to use gst-rtsp-server from git, but is demanding
gstreamer 0.10.28.1 which is newer then what's in lucid. so i would
probably need whole gstreamer from git to test that and i don't know
much about gstreamer, meaning there are possibly much things i can do
wrong.
i also tried gnom
@Sebastian: Okay will try to check that, but i will need a few days to
have some time for it. In the meantime: do you have any clues if this
could be specific to DVB-T? and do you have or know of a DVB-T device
that's working over the Totem plugin?

As of lucid Totem's DVB backend got replaced with GNOME DVB Daemon, but
it also seems to use the buggy "playbin2" and therefore is also affecte

it's not clear where to fix that. maybe in empathy or in vinagre or in

Can confirm Crispin: "RenderAccel" "off" fixed it on XAA with a Radeon
Mobility 7500. Maybe this should be X's default for this generation of
ATi chips, as EXA is AFAIK also off per default.

after bug #450274 got fixed i get the same result with karmic, totem
shows a black screen when trying to play dvb-t. therefore i did some
research: it's not a hardware or driver issue as i tested totem on
serveal computers and my dvb-t device is working with me-tv and vlc.

As of today on current karmic Totem refuses to play DVB-T with the
channels list i used for jaunty (~/.gstreamer-0.10/dvb-channels.conf).
Instead it tells me that it needs a channel list and should follow the
linked instructions which won't get disp
Same issue with jaunty and the PPA of the Telepathy Team (fully updated
today). Within the PPA are also newer versions of vinagre and vino.
Seems that the reciever's empathy can't call vinagre correctly. Is this
a known issue or a regression?
