IT is not consistence wrong. It has appeared now and then in alpha 6.
Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 alpha 6
After giving the username finished by TAB I continue to have the prompt
for username (Användarnamn)
I expected to have the prompt for password.
The computer I use is a Advent laptop 9112Nordic with Intel Pentium
Dual-Core T2310 1.4 GHz
