[Bug 779959] Re: evince fails on graph.ps file, display comes up and immediately disappears

2011-05-11 Thread chuck adams
please mark this bug as solved or non-reproducable. i have gotten back to the
original
system that i was having the problem on and it now works correctly. i am not
sure that
updates since the bug was filed have corrected a system problem.

sorry to be of a bother. your valuable time is appreciated.

oops. ps file is produced with gnuplot and the graph.gp
is input command file to gnuplot. run as

gnuplot graph.gp

then

evince graph.ps

[Bug 779959] Re: evince fails on graph.ps file, display comes up and immediately disappears

2011-05-09 Thread chuck adams
After filing the bug report I have moved 200km from the original
computer.

I have another computer (this one that I am typing this in) and I checked the
attached
graph.ps from Marcel and it displays on this system correctly. I diffed
Marcel's graph.ps
with the one I generated and they are the same.

So the problem seems to be system dependent and I will recreate the issue on the
other system on Wednesday. They both are dual AMD processors and I have to
check
the graphics system to tell what the difference is. This is system is a lenovo
system
and the other is a system I put together from a different mobo, but it too is a
dual
AMD processor system. At least I think so. I have too many systems. :-)

Hang tight and I will add to the thread. Both are running 11.04 with updates,
so there
is no difference on the software. Same 2.32.0 version of evince.

thanks for your patience,

chuck

Please delete the bug report. Turns out, after more than 10 years
of never having the problem, I lost a memory module. Found it when
I downloaded ubuntu 9.10 and I tried the memtest.

Sorry for the wast of bandwidth and time.

ciao,

[Bug 93586] /usr/bin/esd missing with evolution

2007-03-18 Thread Chuck Adams
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

install evolution via

sudo apt-get install evolution

at startup

evolution

a number of

/usr/bin/esd missing/not found messages occur

problem was fixed with

sudo apt-get install esound

hope this helps although I know evolution is not supported
directly under kubuntu

I think is just a case of adding the dependency in case esound
has not been installed

TIA
