bug report.
I made the cut/paste with shortcuts ctrl+x/ctrl+v.

Command line works fine. I had this issue "only" yesterday and today but can't
actually reproduce it more.
I will try to move files from times to times and if I trigger the bug will post
the syslog.

I must add that I move the files from and to the same disk, so files are
not physically moved, only their indexes.

This is a severe critical bug on a modern desktop and the joke is that

Another cut/paste of 2 folders containing 1000 images crashed the whole
Unity desktop (still Ubuntu 16.04). I had to force computer to turn off,

I have the same bug with an updated Ubuntu 16.04 version.
This kind of bug is unacceptable and shouldn't be there after 3 years.

I confirm this bug on Linux Mint 17.3 with gnome-disk-utility 3.10.0.
smartctl (from package smartmontools) works fine with command: sudo
smartctl -a /dev/sdX
