Binary package hint: nautilus
clicking the File Manager icon won't load up nautilus, or it will after a long
time and even then will be non functioning.
can invoke nautilus in terminal only by running sudo nautilus. typing just
nautilus will just stand idle.

I am using Ubuntu version 6.10. I have a laptop with an Intel Centrino system
@1.86Ghz.
I have tried connecting a usb stick, an external HD, a PSP.

I filled a bug report about a similar problem, and I was forwarded here as my
problem appeared to be similar and that I could find help here, but I cant!
The only thing I understood is to print here these:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/dbus start

I've tried some of your solutions described here and now I cant even
login to gnome. I put my username and password and then it restarts the
session without login in. HELP!!!
