I observed this bug in Ubuntu 16.04 with GNOME Disks 3.18.3, trying to format a FAT32 partition on a USB drive.
However, instead of giving an error message, Disks crashed completely. As soon as I entered a volume label of 11 characters or less, the format succeeded. ** Changed in: gnome-disk-utility (Ubuntu) Status: Expired => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-disk-utility in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/682508 Title: SD format operation crashes if volume label is more than 11 characters long To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-disk-utility/+bug/682508/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
