Re: [Bug 822479] Re: Massive Evolution Mail memory leak
Yeah, I've switched to thunderbird 5. Works beautifully, and my netbook is fast again. Pity about Evolution. Is this likely to be fixed anytime soon? [Bug 822479] [NEW] Massive Evolution Mail memory leak
Public bug reported: While there are lots of posts on Evolution memory leaks, this appears to be new. No Natty, evolution starts with around 60mb of usage, and climbs up. Over the past 90 minutes it reached 385mb. Finally killed it. Restarting goes back to the 60mb again. I ran it this time from the command line with: evolution --debug-file= Here is the contents of this file: -- (evolution:2239): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: Object class EMFolderTree doesn't implement property 'paste-target-list' from interface 'ESelectable' (evolution:2239): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: Object class EMFolderTree doesn't implement property 'copy-target-list' from interface 'ESelectable' (firefox-bin:8739): LIBDBUSMENU-GTK-CRITICAL **: dbusmenu_menuitem_property_set_shortcut: assertion `gtk_accelerator_valid(key, modifier)' failed ** (unknown:9247): DEBUG: NP_Initialize ** (unknown:9247): DEBUG: NP_Initialize succeeded ** (unknown:9247): DEBUG: NP_Shutdown NOTE: child process received `Goodbye', closing down NOTE: child process received `Goodbye', closing down java version 1.6.0_22 OpenJDK Runtime Environment (IcedTea6 1.10.2) (6b22-1.10.2-0ubuntu1~11.04.1) OpenJDK Server VM (build 20.0-b11, mixed mode) (firefox-bin:8739): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_source_remove: assertion `tag 0' failed (firefox-bin:8739): GLib-CRITICAL **: g_source_remove: assertion `tag 0' failed No idea what's going on here. If I don't kill evolution regularly my ram gets eaten up and my system freezes. I have uninstalled evolution with the 'purge' option, and reinstalled. I then restored evolution from previously backed up settings, so it's possible there's some problem in my settings. But where? I have 4 imap+ accounts running, plus a pop service. There are about 60 emails in each account, with more archived in a local folder on my computer. I have about 5 local calendars, all measured in kb of data. Any thoughts as to what's going on? I'm aware that Ubuntu is ditching evolution for the next release, so need a work around until then. Cheers. [Bug 673591] Re: All IMAP Folders keep disappearing, reappear after opening Subscriptions
Confirmed this is still a problem in Natty 11.04 Alpha 3. In 10.04, Evolution worked flawlessly. My setup in 10.04 was imap folders with Postfix+Dovecot, then with Citadel. Both were fine. Since installing 11.04 alpha, this problem has been persistent. I am using Citadel on it's own. I can also get my mail folders back via disabling then re-enabling the account (irritating, as then I see ALL my Citadel folders), or selecting subscriptions, unticking, then ticking again each folder I want. Tedious. Has anyone found a work around? I haven't checked the version of Evolution included with Lucid, so I'm not sure if this is Evolution centric, or something to do with Ubuntu. Would appreciate any information, and am happy to help test bug fixes. This should be marked as a high priority, and is a potential show-stopper for the 11.04 final release. Re: [Bug 673591] Re: All IMAP Folders keep disappearing, reappear after opening Subscriptions
You are my hero! After hours of stuffing around, this was fixed by simply selecting imap+ for the receiving protocol. No problems now, this is solved for me. I've found that crashing behaviour moving folders, and more accutately messages within folders, too. Creating and deleting folders however is no problem. Re: [Bug 636329] Re: Gimp won't print preview
I'll give that a try. Just confirming that trying to print when having the preview blank results in a blank document. To print from gimp I'm needing to save as a Jpeg and open that in the image viewer. Prints fine from there though. On 09/13/2010 09:15 AM, Pavle wrote: II had this problem in Arch linux. Can you be more specific to the packages you used, and what that would be on Ubuntu? I have several Cairo libraries. On 09/13/2010 09:15 AM, Pavle wrote: II had this problem in Arch linux.
