[Bug 682492] Re: Evince: Save Settings as default doesn't work

2012-05-15 Thread Kiran Majer
I think this is due to a very peculiar behavior of evince , that it does
not apply the default settings, if the document is stored somewhere
under /tmp. This is annoying, because most of temporarily used documents
(e.g. pdfs in firefox) are stored there and hence are being opened in a
small window.

[Bug 775117] Re: Thunar hangs on first launch of each session

2012-04-19 Thread Kiran Majer
This is still an issue in 12.04.
First start: time thunar

real0m20.223s
user0m0.016s
sys 0m0.008s

second start: time thunar

real0m0.057s
user0m0.012s
sys 0m0.008s

As workaround I suggest setting AutoMount =false in
/usr/share/gvfs/mounts/network.mount and add following autostart entry:
gvfs-mount network: /dev/null gvfs-ls network: /dev/null

I've attached an desktop file for this autostart entry; just copy it
into $HOME/.config/autostart .

[Bug 676917] Re: Trash does not recognize .Trash-1000 on root

2012-03-05 Thread Kiran Majer
This is still an issue with oneiric (gvfs 1.10.0-0ubuntu1), and I would
say a serious one. I use a large ext4 partiton for storing multimedia
files. When I delete a file via gvfs (thunar, gvfs-trash ...) it will be
moved to PARTITION-ROOT/.Trash-$USERID (as it should), but it does not
show up in my trash-bin. That means it will not be deleted when emptying
the trash. So, if you don't delete those files manually your free disk
space keeps shrinking until you completely filled up your partition.

Steps to reproduce:
1. create file in a directory which is on a different partition then $HOME
2. gvfs-trash the file (be sure to have write permission on the partitions root
directory)
3. gvfs-ls trash:// does not show it

Btw. list-trash/empty-trash from the trash-cli package lists and empties
the trash correctly.

[Bug 676917] Re: Trash is not aware of files deleted from non-home partitions

2012-03-05 Thread Kiran Majer
PS: It is aware of files on non-home partitions, just not root. I know
it, because I've got an aditional partition /media/iTunes/

You're right, we have to differentiate a bit more: It does not work on root
(according to Bachsau) and if the partition is mounted on a first level
directory (e.g /srv or /mnt).
It does work if it's mounted on any second level directory or higher (e.g.
/media/test or /srv/test).

[Bug 283563] Re: Can't access gmail labels from epiphany

2008-10-15 Thread Kiran Jonnalagadda
Sorry, should have clarified that. Gmail works in Firefox without
issues.

I've tried enabling and disabling the Greasemonkey extension for
Epiphany but that made no difference (I don't have any GM scripts
installed anyway).

[Bug 283563] [NEW] Can't access gmail labels from epiphany

2008-10-14 Thread Kiran Jonnalagadda
Public bug reported:

Under Intrepid Ibex with epiphany-gecko 2.24.0.1 and gecko-1.9, I can't
open any labels in Gmail. Attaching a screenshot of the error I get.

This only happens for labels. I can open the top level folders such as
Inbox/Spam/Trash without issues.

Gmail displays Oops... the system encountered a problem (#102).

** Affects: epiphany-browser (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided

[Bug 123313] Re: support for the windows autorun mecanism - patch included

2007-07-03 Thread Vijay Kiran Kamuju
We should not hard code the wine path, but should search for it.
If it fails only then only we should resort to it.
The searching should be done first using the package managers like rpm, deb.
Inorder to search for wine path by searching for standard app
installations like wine, cxoffice, cedega in this order)
If it fails then it should search for it using the 'which wine' ouptut.
If that too fails we should use hardcoded paths. (as last resort).

I would say that please have a look at wine module code in guidance.
for checking whether wine has been installed or not.
and to get its path.
