[Bug 442130] Re: Custom fstab causes duplicate entries for partitions in Places
MartinP: could you please tell us what revision of the fstab line resolved the problem for you? This has been bugging me for a long time as well, haven't yet upgraded to 10.04, but from your comment I see the upgrade alone will not fix the issue. -- Custom fstab causes duplicate entries for partitions in Places https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/442130 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 340359] Re: Not a WebDAV enabled share
For what is worth, I was also suffering from this bug (I am the reporter of http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=566853 mentioned by Jörn Dreyer in comment # 11), but all seems fixed in ubuntu 9.10/gnome 2.28. Just for completeness, I still have problems connecting to some webdav servers, but although error messages are very similar, that is a different issue (https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=582219) ** Bug watch added: GNOME Bug Tracker #582219 https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=582219 -- Not a WebDAV enabled share https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/340359 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 411322] Re: desktop icon position of symbolic links are not restored
Another thank you to Emanuele Pane. Just a couple of comments: a. the sudo command is really only needed on step n. 2 (I try and stay away from sudo and root as much as I can) b. before step 5. you need to cd glib2.0-2.22.2 to avoid the same error that Stephen Cradock reported c. I also confirm just installing the libglib2.0-0 package suffices A thank you to Stephen Cradock as well for giving me the final push to try this myself, although you could have told us all how you sorted the tail error...! Here is the complete Emanuele Pane's procedure with my minimal addition: 1. apt-get source libglib2.0-0 2. sudo apt-get build-dep libglib2.0-0 3. find the file in the directories you just created, precisely look for: gio/glocalfileinfo.c 4. modify the file following Takehiko's instructions on comment #6, removing the lines with a - and adding the lines fine a +. 5. cd glib2.0-2.22.2 6. dpkg-buildpackage -us -uc 7. install all the .deb packages built (you can just install libglib2.0-0) -- desktop icon position of symbolic links are not restored https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/411322 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 442130] Re: Custom fstab causes duplicate entries for partitions in Places
The /dev/disk/by-* is a workaround that only works on local partitions, not on network mounts of any type. [Bug 401446] Re: Gnome lost icons position on the desktop
Same issue here, exactly as Zeno described. [Bug 358967] Re: Face browser empty after upgrade to jaunty
Yes, that is definitely the bug, also filed upstream to the gnome bugzilla as Bug 548507 in August 2008, but unfortunately still no activity on it (not that it is in any way a serious bug)! Regarding the upgrade, something surely happened when I upgraded from Intrepid to Jaunty, because I immediately noticed that the faces disappeared on the first boot, and I had not touched dgmsetup at all. -- Face browser empty after upgrade to jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/358967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 358967] Re: Face browser empty after upgrade to jaunty
I also had the same problem, faces disappeared right after upgrading to Jaunty. I also had tried EricT's tricks, with no success. Yesterday I managed to make them reappear. What I noticed was that in system - administration - login window - local, although the human list theme with face browser was visible and selected, the Style: menu at the top was set to Themed. I changed that to Themed with face browser, and all (3) faces came back! Gone through a reboot now and faces are still there. Under Users, I have manually selected the users, and haven't tried going back to Include all users from /etc/passwd. It does seem strange to me that this should fix the problem, but it does, at least to me. -- Face browser empty after upgrade to jaunty https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/358967 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 77541] Re: After hibernation ekiga says registration failed.
I know, as I said in December I am also running Intrepid, problem still there. I was hoping that someone would comment on my (clumsy?) attempt to circumvent the problem... [Bug 77541] Re: After hibernation ekiga says registration failed.
Trying to find a fix for the problem, I was thinking of having ekiga being killed at suspend/hibernate and then restarted at resume. My (newbie) attempt is to add the following script as /etc/pm/sleep.d/01ekiga.fix (substitute sim909 with actual user name): ++ #!/bin/sh case $1 in hibernate|suspend) if [ -n `pidof ekiga` ] ; then touch /tmp/ekiga.fix.by.sim909 killall ekiga fi ;; thaw|resume) if [ -f /tmp/ekiga.fix.by.sim909 ] ; then su -c ekiga --display=:0.0 sim909 rm /tmp/ekiga.fix.by.sim909 fi ;; *) exit $NA ;; esac + The problem now is that ekiga does not start, complaining that there is a gconf error. I think the error is somehow related to trying to start ekiga from outside of the x session. No problem starting it within the x session. [Bug 77541] Re: After hibernation ekiga says registration failed.
No, the bug is still there for me. Running intrepid and ekiga 2.0.12-0ubuntu5, all packages in my system updated to latest version. The same happens after a suspend. After a couple of minutes from resume the status bar goes from registration failed: timeout to missed calls: 0 - voice mails:0, making me think that it has registered with my sip server, when in fact it hasn't. No need to restart ekiga, disabling and re-enabling the account is enough. I only started using ekiga with intrepid, so cannot comment on previus versions. I'd be happy to provide more info if needed. -- After hibernation ekiga says registration failed. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/77541 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to ekiga in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
