Re: [Bug 629258] Re: Battery life estimation never comes around

2011-06-26 Thread sterios prosiniklis
 I too saw the double reporting of battery status, when I first installed
 11.04. However, I saw it *before* I'd installed the patched upower

I confirm this behavior. Seems that it has nothing to do with proposed
patch.

[Bug 177929] Re: We needs file encoding select function.

2011-01-09 Thread sterios prosiniklis
I can confirm comment #46.
In my case, simply uninstalling rar,
solved the problem with name encoding in rar files.
Now, file roller works as expected.

Using unrar x file.rar in command line
works correctly in both cases,
eg. with rar package installed or not.

Seems that rar, somehow,
interferes with file-roller behavior.

[Bug 177929] Re: We needs file encoding select function.

2011-01-09 Thread sterios prosiniklis
Ark, is not influenced by the presence or not of rar package.
Looking at the file-roller and ark source,
the problem with unrar command implementation,
lies in /file-roller-2.30.1.1/src/fr-command-rar.cin file

Not a developer, but in the aforementioned file,
changing the order of these two lines as follows,
and compiling solves the problem in file-roller...

if (have_rar ())
fr_process_begin_command (comm-process, unrar);
else
fr_process_begin_command (comm-process, rar);

HopeThatHelps

[Bug 580961] Re: unzip fails to deal correctly with filename encodings

2010-10-14 Thread sterios prosiniklis
@lstefek
Thanks a lot!

Patch solves this issue for Greek too. LANG=el_GR.utf8
Installing patched unzip and adding in ~/.profile the following lines
export UNZIP=-O CP737
export ZIPINFO=-O CP737
does the trick.

This bug is a show stopper on languages that not use Latin alphabet.
The faster a fix that can easily be adopted by anyone, comes up, the better...

[Bug 604238] [NEW] notebook new battery data, corrupted (inherited from old one)

2010-07-11 Thread sterios prosiniklis
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

not sure if this bug has to be reported against gnome-power-manager...

energy-full: 37.407 Wh
energy-full-design:  48.84 Wh

energy-full value of the new battery is the same of the old one.

1.in a new notebook-new battery (obtained through warranty) i used the old hard
disk to boot, with 9.04 installed.
2.Immediately after, i performed a clean install of 9.10, keeping old home.
3.some time later upgraded to 10.04
4.finally performed a clean install -keeping old home- of 10.04

In all these passages the energy-full value is the one of the old battery,
same value is being reported even when i use a live cd.

seems that some how this value
corrupted new battery data in BIOS or in the battery itself in the
aforementioned passage 1
