This is a big problem for me on a Hardy fresh Install and effects me even after a normal shutdown. I have however noticed that sometimes a normal shutdown doesn't go as smoothly as it did in Gutsy etc. Sometimes I get into the Desktop and have a programme (E.g. Gnucash up and working) and the
