I can confirm that this bug is still in ubuntu-mate (version 19.10).
when unmounting external drives without emptying trash, the trash icon
stays on "full" forever (until the next login)
Expected behaviour would be a re-evaluation of the trash state of the
mounted devices after any mount/unmount

Seeing something very similar here. Have three ubuntu laptops, one
running as a print server with feisty, and two clients running gutsy.
After upgrade to gutsy, printing PDFs works very poorly. I've only
manage to print one PDF since upgrading, and I managed that only by

That seemed to work. Updated, uncommented the Synaptics entry in
xorg.conf and rebooted -- This time login proceeded without any
gllitches. Of course, the mouse cursor now moves slow as molasses with
the touchpad now when it was fast before, but that's a different issue,
and a minor one.

I have the same problem trying to connect to a Samba Share running on a
fresh feisty Xubuntu install.
What I did:
1. Fresh install of Xubuntu on server
2. Set up a SMB Share via Shared Folders
3. Add users via smbpasswd
4. Attempt to open the shared folder on either of two other laptops
Same problem on a fresh edgy install on an older Dell Optiplex G1. All
updates applied, otherwise no changes made thus far.

This appears to have been related to a bad X Server / Graphics Card
setup.
The problem appeared after running dpkg-reconfigure to try to correct
resolution for an ATI 3D Rage IIC Video Card. Ubuntu by default was
refusing to run at 1024x768, allowing only 800x600. When trying to
correct this,

I got it too. This error occurs anytime I click on a password entry and
is keeping me locked out of my password database. Not a good place to
be. I suppose there's some back-door into the DB, but I hope this gets
fixed quickly...
