Installed Windows XP, updated the BIOS to the most up to date version
and the sound now works in Ubuntu 9.10.

I receive no sound at all out of my Toshiba Sat Pro A120 laptop. I am
using Ubuntu 9.10 however I had the same problem in version 9.04. When I
performed the test on my system it appeared to find my sound card but I
still get no sound. The sound device is not muted.
