[Bug 1373577] [NEW] Baobab does not allow resize of panes or change to file tree column width
Public bug reported: Version 3.8.2 on Mint 17 (Cinammon + Xfce), so same result two differnt window managers. baobab: Installed: 3.8.2-1ubuntu1 Candidate: 3.8.2-1ubuntu1 Version table: *** 3.8.2-1ubuntu1 0 500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status Description:Linux Mint 17 Qiana Release:17 1) With pie chart view. It is now impossible to resize the pane. This was previously possible, and improved user experience and usability. It's now not there is a bug or a poor decision. 2) The following problem is a bug, and significantly reduces usability. In the now fixed LHS pane with the folder tree you can initially adjust the column size. However if you then open up some of the folder depth (either directly, or by pushing down into the pie chart) the folder column will expand beyond the size chosen, eventually obscuring all the other information columns if needed by the directory width. It's now a complete PITA to use, since you need to scroll back and forth to see anything useful. However, closing the folder expansions so that the tree is now much smaller in width than the expanded column does not now allow a resizing of the column. In fact the whole layout has become rigid, except that in the case of an even wider folder tree being selected it will once again push the column width as much as it needs. ** Affects: gnome-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1373577 Title: Baobab does not allow resize of panes or change to file tree column width To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-utils/+bug/1373577/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 700918] Re: Could not copy and paste into folder. (Source = valid SymLink path)
Another small observation about this issue. When I plug in a USB drive I seem to get 2 files browsers ( i though that it was because I was a bit click happy) but it may be that I'm getting one Thunar and one Nautilus. That seems to be the reason that I ended up trying to make a copy off Thunar onto Nautilus, since I didn't notice the different browser windows. Still not very user friendly of these apps not to speak to each other. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to nautilus in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/700918 Title: Could not copy and paste into folder. [Bug 700918] [NEW] Could not copy and paste into folder. (Source = valid SymLink path)
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus This is really lame. I cannot even copy from a path obtained by following several symbolic links to a file onto a usb stick mounted normally. Simple task on the command line completed with no problems using exactly the same paths. Ok there is a slight variation here that I've now noticed. The source window was actually Thunar, the destination was Nautilus, but still ...
