Public bug reported: Using nautilus there is the possibility of files loss during a cut and past operation in which the destiny is for example an external drive that gets accidentally disconnected during operation, nautilus erases the files from the source when they are still not yet fully written to the destiny and provides no method to recover in the event of a problem like restoring the files from the trash. Tested on 3.4.2 but should be applicable to the most recent versions if the logic is unchanged.
