[Bug 534004] Re: inkscape crashed with SIGSEGV in pango_ot_info_get()

2010-10-21 Thread xermán
The effect of the bug is the following:

1- Inkscape locks and then greys out. While locked, also locks system.
2- System looses panels, top and bottom, so metacity restarts itself without
the CTRL+ALT+BACKSPACE.
3- Once restarted metacity looses part of visual enhancements and also closes
all opened apps.
4- System seems unstable afterwards and restarting the computer is the best
option to gain stability again.

The bug appeared when trying to modify the font of a text in Inkscape by
doing the following:

1- Type text in the window
2- Select all the text characters with the text tool
3- Try to change font face in the toolbar with the font dropdown menu (not by
selecting the T button on the toolbar

[Bug 490430] [NEW] Evolution locks when retreiving email and compacting folders

2009-11-30 Thread xermán
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

1- ubuntu 904x86_64
2- Evolution 2.26.1
3- 3.1- Retrieve Email
3.2- Close Evolution
3.3- Select a contact from the contact list and view its info.

4- 4.1- Evolution enters a loop while retrieving email, does not retrieve email
and does not allow any other action. The only way to go out this loop is by
force quit the app (or by kill -9 the process).
4.2- When closing evolution, sometimes gets locked up while compacting
folders and does not allow to close the app. Folders don't finish compacting
and app window grays out. The only way out is the same as stated in the
previous step.
4.3- The contact list goes wild from 1st contact to last one for several
times until it stops at the selected contact, regardless the contact preview is
open or not. If not, finally stops at the selected contact and can double click
on it to get the info. If contact preview is open, finally stops at the
selected contact and shows info in the preview pane.

These issues happen in the 64 bit version of Ubuntu. I have not noticed
these in the standard 32bit version. Though as i stated in previous bug,
the contact list has been going wild every time start evolution. And has
been happening since 8.10, for what i remember.

Best regards and thank you very much.

[Bug 359658] Re: evolution crashed with SIGSEGV in strcmp()

2009-11-16 Thread xermán
Hello there,

In Ubuntu 904x86_64, Evolution just crashed. Nothing unusual happened
before the crash. The process was the following:

1- Turn on Computer.
2- Start Evolution and Empathy.
3- Check, write and send some email in Evolution.
4- Launch Xsane in another Workspace.
5- Before pressing the Preview in Xsane, the crash came out.

Other things happening in Evolution are:
1- It keeps Folders in the IN Folder marked as has emails not read when it
has none until evolution restarts.
2- Every time the app starts, checking contact list and selecting 1 contact
from the list makes the contact list scroll up and down from begining to end of
list before showing the contact information on the Preview Pane.
3- If the Preview Pane is not shown, the contact list just does de scroll up
and down for several times and then stops.

Thanks all.
Best regards

Xermán

[Bug 463233] [NEW] Evolution: Not retrieving email

2009-10-29 Thread xermán
Public bug reported:

1. Ubuntu release: 904.x86_64 Jaunty

4. No emails are retrieved, nor in automatic check of accounts, nor in manual

This issue started to happen recently. Since last week, around October

shows plenty of emails on the server.

Servers configuration is OK as confirmed by Hosting provider, and
webmail works OK to send-receive.

As said before, this started to happen recently. From the day 904.x86_64
was clean-installed, no issues whatsoever until last week. Following is

[Bug 450536] [NEW] [Ubuntu] 904x64: Evolution Contact Contact list goes wild when selecting one contact

2009-10-13 Thread xermán
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: evolution

1- Release: Ubuntu 904x64
2- Package: Evolution 2.26.1
3- Expected: Select One contact from contact list shows Contact info in the
View Pane
4- Result: When clicking the Contact from contact list, have to wait for a
couple of seconds to get the contact info. That waiting time is needed because
evolution goes back and forth through the contact list up and down scrolling by
itself and not responding to user actions. That until Evolution calms down and
shows contact info on the view pane, then can use normally until next contact
selection.

This has been happening in Evolution since 804. And I have noticed in
both 32 and 64 bit version

[Bug 64248] No Network on Edgy Desktop CD PPC on PowerBook G4 17

2006-10-16 Thread xermán
Public bug reported:

While on Live Mode I can modify the Network preferences on System -
Administration - Network, these will not be kept once closed the
preference pane.

Moreover:
1. I set network preferences for my local network (LAN)
2. Save these preferences in a Location
3. Activate the location
4. Try to acces internet with no success

Weird, as gateway is not kept in network preferences, but selecting the
saved Location, gateway IP appears.

Weird, as I can navigate LAN, can ping any device on the LAN, even the
gateway, but can not reach outside the gateway.
