[Bug 260765] Re: DVD playback does not work anymore
Onkar, I installed *only* the gstreamer-plugins-bad from your ppa (wasn't sure if i was supposed to do base or sdl, so I only installed the plugins-bad deb). Using stock intrepid totem, dvd playback works ok for me, on a few titles I've tested it on. What works: - Seeking forward, sometimes. Seems to work better on short chapters ( 1 min). Doesn't always seek to the position I set it to, it will often jump back the a point between the current time and the desired time. It also confuses totem a little, if I seek I see the time in the status bar reporting the wrong position (ie, 1:20 / 1:00) - Menu selection using mouse - Menu highlighting works correctly most of the time What doesn't: - Seeking backwards (seems to skip forward) - Menu selection using keyboard (tries to seek instead) - Skip forward/backwards button - The options in the go menu (dvd menu, title menu, etc) Generally, it's a big improvement -- it feels SO close to proper dvd playback! :D -- DVD playback does not work anymore https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260765 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gst-plugins-base0.10 in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 152282] Re: clock applet is one pixel too low
This bug is still present in intrepid, and much more noticeable in the default install since the fast-user-switcher applet is now placed next to the clock. Here's a zoomed screenshot showing the problem in detail. Reading from the upstream bug report, it seems like this is caused because the clock applet text is inside a button. This in itself leads to inconsistency across the top panel - since the fusa does not appear in a button, yet both applets are clickable and show drop-down menus. ** Attachment added: align.gif http://launchpadlibrarian.net/17799658/align.gif -- clock applet is one pixel too low https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/152282 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 258703] Re: gnome-sound-properties cannot set sound preferences
Looks like there's a few parts to this one: 1. To enable all the controls on the gnome-sound-properties page, the freedesktop sound theme (from comment 7) needs to be installed to /usr/share/sounds 2. The instructions in this mailing list post (https://tango.0pointer.de/pipermail/libcanberra-discuss/2008-July/21.html) need to be followed to enable libcanberra gtk integration. Quoted here: ...Packagers! If you package libcanberra, make sure to include a script like this one in your package: snip #!/bin/sh if [ -z $GTK_MODULES ] ; then GTK_MODULES=libcanberra-gtk-module else GTK_MODULES=$GTK_MODULES:libcanberra-gtk-module fi export GTK_MODULES /snip This script should be sourced in each Gnome session and will enable the libcanberra gtk module for all gtk programs. In fedora we install it as libcanberra-gtk-module.sh in /etc/X11/xinit/xinitrc.d/. I assume other distributions have similar directories. ... I think this second part is missing from the ubuntu libcanberra packages, which is preventing the system sounds from working properly even when the freedesktop theme is installed. -- gnome-sound-properties cannot set sound preferences https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/258703 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug assignee. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs

[Bug 195997] Re: [hardy] wrong icon for high priority mail in evolution with non-human themes
I tracked down an alpha 2 cd, and took a screenshot with the better icon. Turns out it's the same icon that's currently used under the context menu for Mark as Important. I also checked in the usr/share/icons, and it looks like nothing has changed there since alpha 2 (ie, stock_mail-priority-high.png was always symlinking to emblem-important.png), so it looks like the problem is in evolution itself. ** Summary changed: - [hardy] wrong icon for stock_mail-priority-high.png in non-Human icon themes + [hardy] wrong icon for high priority mail in evolution with non-human themes ** Also affects: evolution (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Attachment added: screenshot of better high priority icon http://launchpadlibrarian.net/12264450/Screenshot.png -- [hardy] wrong icon for high priority mail in evolution with non-human themes https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/195997 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to evolution in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 195997] [NEW] [hardy] wrong icon for stock_mail-priority-high.png in non-Human icon themes
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-icon-theme In the early Hardy alpha versions, the icon for marking mail as high priority was a very nice red exclamation mark in the tango style. Somewhere along the way, this icon has changed to the emblem- important.png file, in fact, stock_mail-priority-high.png now symlinks to emblem-important.png This only applies to themes based of the gnome icon theme, eg tangerine, mist, etc. Not the human icon theme, which uses it's own orange circle exclamation for stock_mail-priority-high. The tango style red exclamation looked fantastic with the rest of the tango-ised icons in evolution, the current exclamation-in-a-circle icon doesn't look so hot. Unfortunately, I can't find any screenshots of the better icon, but if it helps, I could redownload an early hardy alpha and find the correct image. [Bug 191475] [NEW] [hardy] media tab in file management preferences missing applications
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Under system-preferences-file management, the media tab does not detect a lot of the installed applications. For instance, on a standard hardy alpha 4 install, both Music Player and Photos are disabled, with the text No applications installed, despite Rhythmbox and F-spot being installed on the system. Additionally, under the other media section, it's not possible to select brasero to be the default for blank cd disc. This tab seems to duplicate most of the functionality from Removable Drives and Media, and the settings in it don't match up with what's set in the removable drives and media app. I think it should probably be hidden in the standard hardy install to prevent confusion. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- [hardy] media tab in file management preferences missing applications https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/191475 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a bug contact for nautilus in ubuntu. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 41335] Re: DVD playing is not working correctly with totem-gstreamer
Looks like there may be a solution to part of the problem, with the latest totem svn supporting playback via gstreamer. As per http://www.hadess.net/2008/02/new-tla-features.html Totem GStreamer in SVN got 2 new acronym-laden features. First is DVD playback. Unfortunately, we still don't do menus, but now you'll be able to play the films on your DVD. The support is on-par with the old GStreamer 0.8 code. Thanks to Tim for the guidance in writing this code. Hopefully these changes get included in totem in hardy, then all we'll need is gstreamer support for dvd menus for playback to work correctly! -- DVD playing is not working correctly with totem-gstreamer https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/41335 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
