Glad you got it sorted Daniel. Can only imagine how hard it can be to remember all these "bugs". Barely remember what i had for lunch! [Bug 1845802] Re: [radeon] Corrupt/skewed gnome-shell panel rendering
Come to think of it, a more likely explanation is that this is part of radeon bug 1841718. [Bug 1845802] Re: [radeon] Corrupt/skewed gnome-shell panel rendering
Any desktop where the screenshots come out at that strange resolution would be OK. Just a screenshot of the desktop with 'Settings > Devices > Screen Display' open. I'm focusing on this because it is resolution mixups which usually cause such skewed corruption in rendering. Although there is another issue in mutter I can think of that might cause this bug, that should usually correct itself if you click on the panel. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to mutter in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1845802 Title: [radeon] Corrupt/skewed gnome-shell panel rendering To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1845802/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
[Bug 1845802] Re: [radeon] Corrupt/skewed gnome-shell panel rendering
No, i did not edit the shot. In fact, it was doing same on Ubuntu. Tried Mate yesterday, although it had its issues, it did not have this one. Running MX19.2b at present (in dual boot with Win10) and it too is okay with regards to this. [Bug 1845802] Re: [radeon] Corrupt/skewed gnome-shell panel rendering
Maybe my comment #2 is wrong because the Xrandr output in the attached files doesn't suggest any scaling. Still, as the first priority I would like to understand how and why the screenshot is an unusual resolution: https://justpaste.it/img/43abe76d7c7deef69a379c2fabbf60b6.png Has it been edited? [Bug 1845802] Re: [radeon] Corrupt/skewed gnome-shell panel rendering
The resolution of your screenshot (1260x846) is interesting. That suggests you're using fractional scaling but the scale for the X and Y axes are different (1.333 / 1.2411).
