[Bug 39367] Re: The Save-As button on a new, unsaved file crashes

2006-05-01 Thread Ryan Pavlik
Please note that once the file is successfully saved (that is, has been
assigned a file name) further saves work fine. If any problems are
experienced when saving an already-saved file, this is a separate bug to
report here or http://bugzilla.abisource.com

** Summary changed:

- The Save-As button on a new, unsaved file crashes
+ The Save As, Open dialogs crash AbiWord on AMD 64

** Description changed:

  Reproduce:
- Start AbiWord with a new file.
- Click the Save-As button on the toolbar.
+ Start AbiWord.
+ Select the Save-As or Open options through either the toolbar or the menu.

[Bug 39367] Re: The Save-As button on a new, unsaved file crashes

2006-04-29 Thread devvv
Happens to me too. Ubuntu 6.06 Beta 2/AMD64.

1) I can't save new unsaved files
2) I can't save as... or save copy... after opening a document

I think this is a blocker. Is this really severity normal?

I have changed this to Critical because it makes Abiword unusable in the
default install.

Actually, this also happens with Open. Presuming it's something
involving the file chooser dialogs.

Thanks for your bug report - I believe this is fixed, can you try with the
newest version in Ubuntu Dapper?

After refreshing and smart-upgrading until no packages to upgrade remained,
then re-installing (using Synaptic) all the abi-related packages
(abiword-common, etc), the problem remains.

Furthermore: the Save-As menu option is also broken. It appears that the
save-as mechanism itself is somehow damaged in the Dapper package.

Update - the file need not necessarily be new nor unsaved - the save as button
is simply broken.
