I found the same bug on Bugzilla (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=552378) The bug was opened on 2008-09-15. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. Unfortunately a paper cut should be a small usability issue that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. I'm afraid this bug can't be addressed as part of this project. This is a design suggestion, Not a usability suggestion. Hence not a papercut. A paper cut is a minor usability annoyance that an average user would encounter on his/her first day of using a new installation of Ubuntu 9.10. A very sound proposal. Agreed (since I "suffer" from this very same problem). This, BTW, also affects rhythmbox's waste of space at the top of the screen, with exactly the same situation described by the original poster of this bug).
