[Bug 1767536] Re: Accessing the WIFI section of the "Settings" window causes massive freezes
This is the most annoying issue I have in Ubuntu 18.04 LTS which makes the feeling of the OS being unstable. [Bug 1767536] Re: Accessing the WIFI section of the "Settings" window causes massive freezes
Would very much like this fixed in the LTS version 18.04 (I thought the whole point of LTS is it would get fixes like this). [Bug 1767536] Re: Accessing the WIFI section of the "Settings" window causes massive freezes
I notice that if I launch gnome-control-center from the command line with the "--verbose" option, when I'm on the WiFi tab it prints out all SSIDs available at extremely high speeds. It seems like maybe the periodic scan of networks is happening far too quickly. When I switch to a different tab there is a message about disabling periodic scanning, and suddenly the CPU usage drops dramatically and everything seems to work. I also notice that if I use "rfkill" to disable WiFi, and then run gnome-control-center I can't reproduce the high CPU usage. I'm attaching a snippet of the printouts that are coming on the WiFi tab. Notice it is printing about 2000 messages per second. ** Attachment added: "ssid_print_snippet.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1767536/+attachment/5200658/+files/ssid_print_snippet.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gnome-control-center in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1767536 Title: Accessing the WIFI section of the "Settings" window causes massive freezes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-control-center/+bug/1767536/+subscriptions -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
