Public bug reported:

Thanks for updating alacarte - its good to be able to use it again.

System:
Xubuntu 12.10_x64

Alacarte:
  Installed: 3.5.5-0ubuntu1.1
  Candidate: 3.5.5-0ubuntu1.1
  Version table:
 *** 3.5.5-0ubuntu1.1 0
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     3.5.5-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://mirror.team-cymru.org/ubuntu/ quantal/universe amd64 Packages

Expected to happen:
The ability to edit the menu catergories and place them into a desired order.

What happened instead:
The Wine and Electronics categories 'jumped' to the top of Applications Menu
list after editing the menu with alacarte 3.5.5-0ubuntu1.1. Alacarte does not
show these two categories in its editor and there is no way to move them to a
new (original) position. However, the new category created ('Complex Systems')
was editable and can be moved where desired. It's as if alacarte doesn't 'see'
certain menu entries.
