Public bug reported:

Circumstances: I was playing 2 .ogg files in a loop. Every once in a
while after it finished one it would just stop playing for maybe 30-60
seconds. Hitting pause the hitting play made it start playing again. The
interface indicates that it is playing even when this "freeze" occurs,
but the time slider does not move and the time label does not change
value.

lsb_release -rd: Description:
Ubuntu 12.10
Release: 12.10

apt-cache policy pkgname:
rhythmbox:
  Installed: 2.97-1ubuntu6.1
  Candidate: 2.97-1ubuntu6.1
  Version table:
 *** 2.97-1ubuntu6.1 0

Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     2.97-1ubuntu5 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ quantal/main amd64 Packages

What I expected to happen: Rhythmbox to play the next song immediately.

What happened: Rhythmbox stopped playing the file at the beginning (no
movement from time slider), although the play/pause icon indicated that
it was playing.

Notes: I have not done any configuration of Rhythmbox because I hardly
use it, the .ogg files just opened in it by default. They are located in
/tmp because I am playing them from archive manager. I am using the
xorg-edgers ppa, I don't know if this has any possibility of affecting
this.
