The sample video attached to comment #1 plays fine in Totem here on Ubuntu 13.04 with kernel Linux 3.8.0-19-generic i686. In addition to libgstreamer0.10-0 0.10.36-1ubuntu2, libgstreamer1.0-0 1.0.6-1and gstreamer1.0-plugins-good 1.0.6-1ubuntu1, I have installed gstreamer1.0 -plugins-bad
