For the audio in ubuntu 10.04, i just removed the sound drivers and reinstalled them back again from synaptic, it worked perfectly in ubuntu 10.04. For the ATI card and resolution problem I follow this guidance i use the ATI driver according to this guide: http://usemoslinux.blogspot.com/2012/10/que-hacer-despues-de-instalar- ubuntu.html this is what ai did: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:makson96/fglrx sudo apt-get update sudo apt-get upgrade sudo apt-get install fglrx-legacy after some reboots and some updates and upgrades i could use gnome shell and unity back again. Nevermind the Xorg log. I can see that you have fglrx installed from your dmesg.
