I can confirm the original bug as far up as Intrepid. I use a work- around of opening the Typing Break preferences and turning off then back on. This resets the timer. However, Typing Break itself ought to keep a real-world timer check and reset based on real-world time as well. It's annoying to

If I suspend my computer while typing-monitor is blocking the screen and I continue the computer later on, the screen is still blocked but typing-monitor is not displayed. So I need to change to a terminal by ctrl+alt+f1, login, and kill the specific process to get access to the gnome desktop
