None of the above worked for me.

Worked for me, too. I ran
$ sudo apt-get purge evolution
$ sudo apt-get autoclean
I then installed evolution (from the Software Centre) and restarted (to
ensure all the Evo' related daemons were restarted).

I also tried that, but did not have success. Did you remove any other
packages apart from the normal evolution package? (There are lots of
other packages including evolution installed...)

Hi,
I did a complete removal of evolution via synaptic that was it, it
removed all that was linked. I installed via the software centre and
added what I wanted from there.

thanks, but that didn't help for me either. even after that, evolution
only appears for about a second and then crashs.

Same here. In fact, I only need to open Evolution to add other Google-
Sub-Calendars, so they are displayed in my Gnome-Shell-Panel. So if
someone knows a workaround for adding other Google-Sub-Calendars
without using evolution, I would be happy about that.

Hi,
I managed to get mine sorted by doing a complete removal via the
Synaptic Package Manager. I then downloaded it again from the Software
Centre. What came as a surprise all my mails and archives were intact
afterwards.
