I reckoned it is some automatic editing that is meant to protect from
something - perhaps phishing.
I've changed to gmail now so it is no longer a problem.
I think it was the mail processing at the server which hosted my mail.

i dont exactly understand what is persistent (im dutch)
but i got this problem with the links:
they always are blue, if they have to be white, they still are blue in the
email program, this causes unreadable links at blue backgrounds
