Public bug reported: Today when I plugged in my external monitor the Activities bar/clock/etc (is there a name for this?) was on the wrong screen. It took me 20 minutes of plugging/unplugging, restarting X, searching and reading forums until I came across this AskUbuntu post [1]. The answer, to drag the black bar to the other display in Settings > Displays, had been sitting in front of my eyes all along, but apparently unless you've used a Mac (I haven't) it is unreasonable to assume a user would know to do this.
Granted, there is a tooltip that says "Drag to change the primary display." but this is only activated once you have already clicked on the tiny black bar. Perhaps a better UI hint would be useful here to say "Hey, dumbass, drag that very tiny black bar" or something.
