You have been subscribed to a public bug: After installing some updates, all the menubars/panels disappered. I'm a first time user of Ubuntu, and I couldn't find any way to restore the menubars/panels. The only solution I found, was to reinstall Ubuntu from scratch.
Is there a way to restore the panels - applications, places and system ? Since none of the panels were present, I couldn't load /make a new panel.
