P, sorry about all the spam above, just woke up and I'm clumsy , need to

that's not an Ubuntu bug, you should not install packages from random
websites if you want to avoid breakages like this one

you should stick to Ubuntu packages if you want to avoid issues like
this one! You can use the support tracker on

Thanks very much man, problem solved.

Pidgin and totem (not the firefox plugin version) are broken to my gutsy for
quite some time.
This happens when i write pidgin in a terminal:
(pidgin:8378): GStreamer-WARNING **: Failed to load plugin
'/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstfaad.so': /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstfaad.so:

Not that the people whining over here about this problem are romanians,
maybe it has something to do with it since other people haven't
complained about it (i mean about localization/servers issues). Don't
mind me if i'm wrong :)

I must also note that I can't run totem (totem-gstreamer), not even
totem-xine. It says:
[18:01][claudiu:/~]$ totem
(totem:21064): GStreamer-WARNING **: Failed to load plugin
'/usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstfaad.so': /usr/lib/gstreamer-0.10/libgstfaad.so:

I found that I can run movies with totem like this:
= Opening $HOME in Firefox, and clicking on movie. It runs ok with
totem-gstreamer-plugin.
Anyway, standalone totem will not run (for a week now).
