Public bug reported:

I used Gedit to edit a file on a network share. Now when I attempt to
start Gedit while having no access to this network share, Gedit doesn't
render anything in the window. So I see no menu, no toolbar, no tabs,
just the default window background.

Steps to reproduce:
1) open a file from CIFS share in Gedit
2) close Gedit
3) disable network
4) try to start Gedit

I see this problem in Gedit 3.10.4 on Ubuntu 15.04

I have reported that issue upstream
(https://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=751274) and apparently
Ubuntu uses a very old Gedit that has "recent files" feature that causes
the problem.
