vivid shipped with webkit2gtk 2.6 (you seem to be confusing with webkit1) epiphany in wily is built against webkit2gtk 2.8, in fact that is a hard dependency for 3.16. Just saw that libwebkit2gtk-4.0-37 in wily is 2.8.4, so maybe this is already fixed in wily.
