Document viewer on the 2nd machine worked perfectly, and now works perfectly on the first machine as well, also tried it with a alternate user ID. I don't know if the last round of updates fixed it indirectly, or what I was seeing was related to the X.org driver issues I am now encountering on

evince --version GNOME evince 2.20.0 As far as I can tell, all .pdfs (At least I haven't found a .pdf that still worked after the update) libcairo 1.4.10-1ubuntu4 I don't know what popler is -- synaptic doesn't report anything with that name, and apropos returns nothing. How do I find it and

Late breaking news: The last update I did may have sort of fixed it - or at least I did something I didn't before. When I click on a .pdf to open it it shows the grey screen as usual, but as soon as I change from its default 400% zoom the document appears. (The document is still there when I
