This happens to me still when evince is embedded in epiphany. Should I
open a new bug? Fully updated gutsy BTW.

Document viewer on the 2nd machine worked perfectly, and now works perfectly on
the first machine as well, also tried it with a alternate user ID. I don't
know if the last round of updates fixed it indirectly, or what I was seeing was
related to the X.org driver issues I am now encountering on
can you confirm which version of evince this is with, and also which
versions of popler and cairo.
does this happen to all pdfs?

that name, and apropos returns nothing. How do I find it and

The last update I did may have sort of fixed it - or at least I did something I
didn't before. When I click on a .pdf to open it it shows the grey screen as
usual, but as soon as I change from its default 400% zoom the document appears.
